Chitosan (Poly-D-glucosamine) is a natural polysaccharide (from crustacean shells), biocompatible, biodegradable, bio-renewable and harmless to humans.
Chitosan has a dual function: it mobilises the plant’s immune system, recognising the product as a potential threat, and it has a certain fungicidal effect by temporarily modifying the fungal wall.
